A Bucket Of Blood is a 1959 comedic horror film, directed by acclaimed b-horror director Roger Corman. The film stars Dick Miller as Walter Paisley, which is the name of a character that he would play several times in his career, including in the low budget classic Chopping Mall. This film poked fun at beatnik coffee house culture, and the pretentious coffee house art scene. This film is either a comedy that is an accidental horror, or a horror that is accidentally a comedy. This film was shot on the same sets as Corman's next film, Little Shop of Horrors, which is also a comedic horror film.

The film, definitely feels like a Roger Corman movie. The acting is very well done, and excellently done, Dick Miller would go on to work for Corman many times again in the future. This is 1950s/60s era b-horror at its best. About a dim-witted busboy at a coffee shop, who is an aspiring artist, and one night he accidentally kills his neighbor's cat and turns it into a sculpture, and from there the film descends down a spiral into madness.

The film quality has stood up well over time, and the film is still as great today as it was when it was released. The sound and picture quality are both great. The story is a great decent into madness, and has a great tragic story of a dimwitted busboy who gets in over his head.

This film has also been heralded by critics as a classic film of the comedic horror genre, and for how well it turned out being that it is on a $50,000 budget, and a 5 day filming deadline. This is definitely one of my favourite films, as are many of Corman's other great classics.

Would I recommend this film? Yes, absolutely, I would say that this film, is a must see for anyone who loves b-horror films. There's great story telling, great action, great casting, and great production. This is a great example of how great a film can be with a low budget and very short film timing. Definitely one of my favourite films, and a must see, if you ever get a chance ot see it, please give it a view.
